JR Williams is the Director of Technology for the Guap Foundation. He brings over 20 years professional and expert experience in IT Architecture, Testing, Integration, Virtualization, Storage, Database, and Web Development. JR is considered a full-stack developer because his experience spans across all core information technology services. His professional experience began as a systems administrator of the DOD, after only a few months he was promoted to a Senior Systems Engineer with a major focus on VMware, Windows and Linux server environments.
JR is also proficient in Web Development, PKI and SSL encryption, Information Security, Server Hardening, WebLogic, Active Directory and Oracle RAC. JR is a subject matter expert in supporting, developing, testing, and integrating complex projects which have exceeded 850 million dollars in funding. He has served as lead test engineer on several major DOD projects spanning from FL, VA, Colorado, California to the Marshall Islands. His experience in the commercial sector consists of overseeing the development of Space related software with large teams in Santa Monica CA and San Diego.
JR Williams graduated with an AAS in IT from the University of Phoenix and a BAS in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University, FL. JR is a military veteran with over 8 years active duty and 4 years reserve. He is certified in Information Security, Networking, and NetApp Block Storage. JR is currently a Storage Systems Architect for the DOD where he provides expert support and consulting on block, object, and software-defined storage.
